This is a love letter to Critical Role’s cast known as the Mighty Nein. The direction of this piece is to show what each character is gazing at/ focused on. Now it’s finally mounted and framed across from our D&D room. ^__^

Critical Role Character Set
My Game Nite crew and I have gone full dive into Dungeons and Dragons thanks to the popular series Critical Role. The characters are fantastic and the narrative impossible to not be drawn into. I decided to do a small character series in just pen and sharpie with no guiding pencils or a plan. I added some red ink smudges in specific areas for dramatic and thematic effects. Enjoy the Mighty Nein!

This one is an old charcoal drawing I did about 6+ years ago of a woman I was seeing at the time. She was exciting and reckless, and noticeably very beautiful. Unfortunately for me, she was as unreliable as a cat, so I came to nickname her “my stray”–only coming around when she felt like it and only as a means of escape. We had some great times, but obviously it would have never worked out. I’m happy that I captured this moment, though. This was maybe an hour session, if that.
Inktober 2018
For Father’s Day this year, I decided to take it back to the old days when I was younger and couldn’t afford to get my old man anything as a gift. Both because I couldn’t afford to get him anything as a gift and because I wanted to make it something a little more personal. I was able to snag movie posters for Wonder Woman and Justice League from my local theater to give him as a regular gift, but I also added in a sketch of his favorite characters to add some flavor.
Man-Thing and Thanos. I’d love to write that team-up. Thanos, pondering nihilistic existentialism while Man-Thing silently teleports him around the multiverse in a bizarre showcase of life and death.
